About the tip: our drivers are paid a fair living wage by us — not from your tip. If our driver makes your arrival feel like a small gift, a tip is welcome. It's never expected and never charged at checkout.

We monitor your flight in real time and adjust for delays. Your driver is always at the right place at the right time.
$107 includes vehicle, driver, taxes, tolls, water, and child seats. The number you see is the number you pay. Tip is welcome but never expected.

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.
Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.
Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.
One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.
Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.
The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

A small concierge note from us.
Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.
You land
Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.
You walk to Shaded Area #3
Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.
Your driver arrives in under two minutes
Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.
You arrive at the suite
Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

Grand Velas Los Cabos sits in the Costa Palmilla luxury enclave of the Tourist Corridor, about 32 km southwest of Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). A private door-to-door transfer takes 25-30 minutes off-peak. One-way pricing starts at $95 USD for a private van — child seats, bottled water, tolls, and flight tracking included. No taxi line, no shared shuttle stops, no waiting at SJD curb-side.

The drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) to Grand Velas Los Cabos covers roughly 32 km along Highway 1 (Carretera Transpeninsular) before a short turn-off into the Costa Palmilla corridor — the same luxury enclave that is home to One&Only Palmilla, Chileno Bay, Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol, Montage, and Las Ventanas al Paraíso. Outside of peak hours expect a 25-30 minute ride. During peak afternoon arrivals (12:00-4:00 pm) in high season (Dec-Apr), add 10-15 minutes for corridor traffic. Our drivers track your flight in real time and plan the route around live traffic.
| Metric | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Distance | ~32 km / 20 mi | Via Highway 1, Costa Palmilla turn-off |
| Typical time | 25-30 min | Off-peak (mornings, mid-afternoon) |
| Peak-hour time | 35-45 min | 12:00-4:00 pm arrivals, high season (Dec-Apr) |
| Zone | Costa Palmilla | Tourist Corridor — premium-luxury cluster |
| Starting price | $95 USD | Private van, up to 8 passengers |
Three vehicle categories cover every party size headed to the resort. All-inclusive pricing — what you see at checkout is what you pay.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Best for | One-way price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Van | Up to 8 pax | Couples, families, small groups | $95 USD |
| VIP Suburban | Up to 6 pax | Honeymoons, premium ride | $100 USD |
| Mercedes Sprinter | Up to 18 pax | Weddings, group celebrations | $150 USD |
| Option | Approx. cost | Time to resort | Comfort |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (us) | $95 USD / vehicle | 25-30 min direct | A/C, water, child seats, no detours |
| Taxi sindicato (Zone 3) | $80-100 USD / vehicle | 20-30 min | Cash only at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking |
| Shared shuttle | $20-30 USD / person | 70-95 min | 15-60 min fill wait + 2-4 hotel stops before yours |
| Rental car | $50-90 USD / day + insurance | 25-30 min | You drive after a long flight |
Shared shuttles undercut a private transfer on a per-person basis if you are traveling solo or as a pair, but the ride itself takes roughly three times as long — 70-95 minutes once you factor in the fill wait and the 2-4 other hotels on the route, versus 25-30 minutes direct to Grand Velas Los Cabos. Shared shuttles also do not carry child seats, so families traveling with young kids typically book private. The taxi sindicato's Zone 3 rate ($80-100) sits close to our $95 flat price, but it is cash-only with no flight-delay coverage. See our full private-vs-shared-shuttle breakdown for the per-passenger math.
Grand Velas Los Cabos is the all-inclusive property in the Costa Palmilla cluster — unlike its neighbors on this stretch of corridor, which run à la carte dining and room rates, Grand Velas bundles meals, drinks, and most resort activities into the room rate. Our driver pulls into the resort drop-off circle directly; the Grand Velas bellmen meet the vehicle, take the luggage, and the front desk handles check-in and all-inclusive wristbands from there.
Grupo Velas operates more than one Grand Velas resort, and the name alone does not tell you which airport to fly into. Grand Velas Los Cabos, on the Baja California Sur peninsula, is served by Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) — the property this page covers. Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is a separate, all-suite resort on the Nuevo Vallarta beachfront near Puerto Vallarta, served by Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) and booked through our sister site for that region. Grupo Velas also operates a Grand Velas resort in the Riviera Maya, on the opposite (Caribbean) coast of Mexico, served by Cancún International Airport — a third airport entirely. The three properties are on different coasts and do not share a transfer, a route, or a price. Double-check your hotel confirmation email before booking.
Your transfer is ready whenever you are. Book in under 2 minutes — no account needed.
