Why the Costa Palmilla zone is the swimmable beach side
Los Cabos has very few naturally swimmable beaches — most of the coast has strong undertow or rocky entry. Costa Palmilla's coves (Palmilla Bay, Chileno Bay, Santa Maria Bay) are the exceptions: protected, calm, and lifeguarded at the resorts. If you are bringing kids or non-swimmers and want beach time, this zone is the safest choice in Los Cabos. Chileno Bay specifically is one of only two officially designated Blue Flag swim beaches in the area.

The sindicato's $80-100 Zone 3 Costa Palmilla rate sits above our $95 flat price once you account for the fact that the sindicato quote is cash-only and does not adjust for a delayed flight. A shared shuttle is the cheapest per-person option for a solo traveler or couple, but the 70-95 minute ride (15-60 minute fill wait plus 2-4 other hotel stops) is a real trade-off against a 20-30 minute direct transfer — for 3 or more travelers, the per-person shuttle cost usually crosses over to be more expensive than our flat vehicle rate. A rental car makes sense only if you plan to leave the resort often; for a straight airport-to-hotel run it rarely beats the transfer price once insurance is added.
