A private transfer takes 20-35 minutes depending on which one you booked. One-way pricing starts at $95 USD per van, all-inclusive with flight tracking and child seats.
How long is the transfer from SJD to each Costa Palmilla resort?
There is no single answer, because the six are not in one place. They all sit off Highway 1 between the airport and Cabo San Lucas, but spread from 24 km to 38 km out from SJD: Las Ventanas al Paraíso and One&Only Palmilla are closest to San José del Cabo at 20-25 minutes; Chileno Bay, Montage and Grand Velas are mid-corridor at 22-30 minutes; and Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol is at the Cabo San Lucas end at 28-35 minutes. Book by the exact property name — the drive time and the resort gate are different for each one.

What does a Costa Palmilla transfer cost?
All six resorts quote at the same premium-corridor rate — between Tourist Corridor standard and Cabo San Lucas — whether yours is 24 km or 38 km from the airport. That is the whole point of the tier: the price does not move with the distance inside this group. All pricing is all-inclusive: vehicle, driver, taxes, tolls, bottled water, child seats. No tip required.

Which of these resorts has swimmable water
Los Cabos has very few naturally swimmable beaches — most of the coast has strong undertow or rocky entry. Three of the coves these resorts were built on are the exceptions: Palmilla Bay (One&Only Palmilla), Chileno Bay (Chileno Bay Resort) and Santa María Bay (Montage) are protected, calm, and lifeguarded at the resort. They are three separate beaches several kilometres apart, so swimmable water is a property-by-property choice here, not something the whole rate guarantees. If you are bringing kids or non-swimmers and want beach time, those three coves are the safest bet in Los Cabos. Chileno Bay specifically is one of only two officially designated Blue Flag swim beaches in the area.
Private transfer vs. taxi, shared shuttle, or rental car to Costa Palmilla
All six resorts fall under the taxi sindicato's official Zone 3 rate — the sindicato does not separate them from the rest of the Tourist Corridor, and neither does the highway. Shared shuttles do reach every one of them, but they run one stop at a time — your trip can stretch well past an hour depending on where the dispatcher puts you in the drop-off order.

The sindicato's Zone 3 rate of $75-95 can land a few dollars under our $95 flat price, so the honest difference is not the number: the sindicato quote is cash-only at the arrivals kiosk and does not adjust for a delayed flight. A shared shuttle is the cheapest per-person option for a solo traveler or couple, but the 70-95 minute ride (15-60 minute fill wait plus 2-4 other hotel stops) is a real trade-off against a 20-35 minute direct transfer — and by four travelers the shuttle adds up to $80-120, which has already caught up with our flat vehicle rate. A rental car makes sense only if you plan to leave the resort often; for a straight airport-to-hotel run it rarely beats the transfer price once insurance is added.
Late-night and early morning arrivals
For 5-7 AM departures from any of these resorts, plan to leave 2 hours before scheduled flight time: 25-35 minutes drive + 60 minutes for SJD security + buffer. We confirm pickup time 24 hours before departure via WhatsApp.
