The Tourist Corridor is the 30 km (20-mile) coastal stretch between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas — where most of the luxury all-inclusives, golf resorts, and beach hotels in Los Cabos cluster. With a private transfer, expect a 20-35 minute door-to-door ride from SJD depending on which resort. One-way pricing starts at $92 USD for a private van with child seats, bottled water, and flight tracking included.
How long is the transfer from SJD to the Tourist Corridor?
Tourist Corridor resorts line Highway 1 between SJD and Cabo San Lucas. Distances from the airport vary by resort position: properties at the San José end are 15-22 km, mid-corridor properties 25-30 km, and Cabo-end properties 30-38 km. Most arrivals land in the 20-30 minute range under normal traffic. Add 10-15 minutes during peak afternoon arrivals (12-4 PM) in high season (Dec-Apr).
| Resort area | Distance | Average drive time |
|---|---|---|
| San José corridor (Hilton, Westin, Marquis) | 20-25 km | 22-30 min |
| Cabo Del Sol / Costa Azul (Four Seasons, Esperanza) | 25-30 km | 25-32 min |
| Mid-corridor (Le Blanc, Hard Rock, Solaz) | 28-33 km | 28-35 min |
| Cabo-end corridor (Garza Blanca, Krystal Grand) | 30-38 km | 30-40 min |
| Hacienda Encantada / Casa del Mar | 22-25 km | 20-28 min |
What does a Tourist Corridor transfer cost?
Most corridor resorts price at our Los Cabos premium tier — a step above San José del Cabo (closer) and a step below Cabo San Lucas (further). Premium-luxury properties on the corridor (One&Only Palmilla, Chileno Bay, Four Seasons, Montage, Grand Velas, Las Ventanas) are in our adjacent Costa Palmilla zone at $95 USD. All pricing is all-inclusive — vehicle, driver, tolls, taxes, bottled water, child seats. No tip required.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Best for | One-way USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private Van | Up to 8 pax | Couples, families, small groups | $92 |
| VIP Suburban | Up to 6 pax | Premium comfort, leather interior | $100 |
| Mercedes Sprinter | Up to 18 pax | Large groups, weddings, events | $153 |

Private transfer vs. taxi, shared shuttle, or rental car on the Tourist Corridor
Corridor resorts are spread across 20 miles of highway with no shared rideshare. Shared shuttles take you to one drop-off at a time — your trip can stretch from 30 minutes to 90+ depending on stop order. The official taxi sindicato at SJD charges Zone 3 rates for the Tourist Corridor — comparable to ours but without flight tracking, English-speaking drivers, or any recourse if your flight is delayed.
| Option | Approx. cost | Time to resort | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (us) | $92 USD / vehicle | 20-35 min direct | Flight-tracked, all-inclusive, child seats included |
| Taxi sindicato (Zone 3) | $75-95 USD / vehicle | 20-35 min | Cash only at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking |
| Shared shuttle | $20-30 USD / person | 70-95 min | 15-60 min fill wait + 2-4 hotel stops before yours |
| Rental car | $50-90 USD / day + insurance | 20-35 min | You drive after a long flight; no flight-delay coverage |
For a solo traveler or a couple, the shared shuttle is cheapest on a per-person basis — but expect a 70-95 minute ride once the 15-60 minute fill wait and 2-4 other hotel stops are factored in, versus 20-35 minutes direct with a private transfer. The taxi sindicato's official Zone 3 rate ($75-95) sits close to our $92 private rate, but is cash-only with no flight tracking and no guarantee of an English-speaking driver. A rental car makes sense if you plan to explore beyond your resort — Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, Todos Santos — but for a straight airport-to-hotel trip it rarely saves money once insurance is added, and unlike a private transfer, it does not adjust for a delayed flight.
Late-night and early morning arrivals
We staff drivers across the full 24-hour clock. For a 5-7 AM corridor departure, plan to leave your resort 2 hours before scheduled flight time: 25-35 minutes drive + 60 minutes for SJD security and check-in (it slows considerably during peak holiday weeks). We confirm pickup time with you 24 hours before departure via WhatsApp.
