Tourist Corridor resorts line Highway 1 between SJD and Cabo San Lucas, and the single thing that decides your drive time is which end of that 20-mile stretch your resort sits on. Properties at the San José end — Costa Azul, Playa Acapulquito — are 20-25 km from the terminal and run 20-30 minutes. Mid-corridor properties, around Cabo Real, are 28-33 km and run 28-35 minutes. The Cabo San Lucas end runs 28-48 minutes: Cabo Del Sol is roughly 38 km at 28-35 minutes, and Punta Ballena — Esperanza at Km 7, Hacienda Encantada at Km 7.3 — measures 37-39 km at 35-48 minutes, because that last stretch funnels into Cabo San Lucas traffic. Add 10-15 minutes on top of any of these during peak afternoon arrivals (12-4 PM) in high season (Dec-Apr).

One clarification worth making, because the names get mixed up constantly: Costa Azul and Cabo Del Sol are at opposite ends of the corridor. Costa Azul is the surf beach immediately southwest of San José del Cabo, next door to Playa Acapulquito and the Marquis — one of the shortest airport drives in Los Cabos. Cabo Del Sol is a golf and resort development at the Cabo San Lucas end, roughly 38 km out, and Punta Ballena (Esperanza) is just past it. If a booking page quotes you a single "Tourist Corridor" drive time without asking which resort, treat the number as a rough average rather than your actual ride.

Most corridor resorts price at our Los Cabos premium tier — a step above San José del Cabo (closer) and a step below Cabo San Lucas (further). That is a price tier, not a neighbouring area: those six sit anywhere from 24 km to 38 km from the airport, with standard-tier corridor hotels in between. All pricing is all-inclusive — vehicle, driver, tolls, taxes, bottled water, child seats. No tip required.

Corridor resorts are spread across 20 miles of highway with no shared rideshare. Shared shuttles take you to one drop-off at a time — your trip can stretch from 30 minutes to 90+ depending on stop order. The official taxi sindicato at SJD charges Zone 3 rates for the Tourist Corridor — comparable to ours but without flight tracking, English-speaking drivers, or any recourse if your flight is delayed.

For a solo traveler or a couple, the shared shuttle is cheapest on a per-person basis — but expect a 70-95 minute ride once the 15-60 minute fill wait and 2-4 other hotel stops are factored in, versus 20-48 minutes direct with a private transfer, depending on which end of the corridor your resort sits on. The taxi sindicato's official Zone 3 rate ($75-95) sits close to our $92 private rate, but is cash-only with no flight tracking and no guarantee of an English-speaking driver. A rental car makes sense if you plan to explore beyond your resort — Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, Todos Santos — but for a straight airport-to-hotel trip it rarely saves money once insurance is added, and unlike a private transfer, it does not adjust for a delayed flight.
