How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.

Walk straight to Shaded Area #3

Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.

Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.

Look for the white-shirt embroidered uniform

One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.

Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.

From baggage claim to your suite.

You land

Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.

You walk to Shaded Area #3

Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.

Your driver arrives in under two minutes

Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.

You arrive at the suite

Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

About this transfer

Written by the Cabos Airport Transportation operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Marquis Los Cabos is an adults-only beachfront resort on Playa Acapulquito, in the San José end of the Tourist Corridor, about 20-25 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). A private transfer takes 22-30 minutes off-peak, or 32-45 minutes during peak afternoon arrivals in high season. One-way pricing starts at $92 USD for a private van — child seats, tolls, and flight tracking included.

How long is the transfer from SJD to Marquis Los Cabos?

Marquis Los Cabos sits at the San José end of the Tourist Corridor, on Highway 1 roughly 20-25 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) — the closest cluster of corridor resorts to the airport, alongside Hilton Los Cabos and Westin Los Cabos. Off-peak, expect a 22-30 minute ride. During peak afternoon arrivals (12:00-4:00 pm) in high season (Dec-Apr), traffic through San José del Cabo and the corridor can add 10-15 minutes, stretching the ride to 32-45 minutes. Your driver tracks your flight in real time and adjusts pickup timing around it.

Private transfer vs. taxi vs. shared shuttle to Marquis Los Cabos

How a private transfer compares for SJD → Marquis Los Cabos

Private transfer (us)$92 USD / vehicle22-45 min directA/C, water, child seats on request, direct drop-off
Taxi sindicato (Tourist Corridor rate)$85-105 USD / vehicle22-45 minCash only at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking
Shared shuttle (third-party operators, e.g. Cabo Shuttle, Discount Cabo)$20-35 USD / person45-75 min with other stopsMultiple resort stops before yours, fixed departure windows
Rental car$50-90 USD / day + insurance22-45 minYou drive after a long flight

A shared shuttle from a third-party operator can look cheaper per person, but it is not a service we run ourselves — we only offer private vehicles. Third-party shuttles typically make several stops at other corridor resorts before reaching Marquis Los Cabos, which can turn a 22-30 minute direct drive into 45-75 minutes with a full van. For an adults-only beachfront stay, most guests headed to Marquis Los Cabos value the direct, private ride enough to skip the shared-shuttle stops entirely — our $92 rate is priced close to the taxi sindicato's corridor rate while adding flight tracking and a guaranteed direct drop-off.

Arrival at Marquis Los Cabos — what to expect

From SJD, the route follows Highway 1 south through San José del Cabo before reaching the Tourist Corridor and the Marquis Los Cabos entrance on Playa Acapulquito. Your driver has your name and vehicle details on file before you land, holding a board with our logo and your name at Shaded Area #3. From the resort entrance, valet and bell staff take over for check-in.

Why couples and small groups pick Marquis Los Cabos

Marquis Los Cabos sits directly on Playa Acapulquito, one of the few Los Cabos beaches on the Tourist Corridor calm enough for regular swimming rather than just sunbathing (most Pacific and corridor beaches carry strong undertow warnings). As an adults-only property, it draws a mix of anniversary trips, honeymoons, and destination-wedding parties who book the resort specifically for that quiet, no-kids setting. Because it sits at the San José end of the corridor, guests get the shortest airport drive of any Tourist Corridor resort — a meaningful difference for late-arriving flights or guests who want to be at the pool within the hour of landing.

That short drive also matters for the return leg: for red-eye or early-morning departures, a 22-30 minute ride to SJD leaves more room to sleep in than the 30-45 minute drives required from Cabo San Lucas or Pacífico-side resorts. We recommend booking the return transfer for 3 hours before an international flight and 2.5 hours before a domestic one, adjusted automatically if your flight time changes.
