How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.

Walk straight to Shaded Area #3

Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.

Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.

Look for the white-shirt embroidered uniform

One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.

Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.

From baggage claim to your suite.

You land

Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.

You walk to Shaded Area #3

Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.

Your driver arrives in under two minutes

Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.

You arrive at the suite

Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

About this transfer

Written by the Cabos Airport Transportation operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos sits in San José del Cabo, the closest tourist zone to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) — about 12 km away. A private door-to-door transfer takes 15-20 minutes off-peak. One-way pricing starts at $84 USD for a private van — child seats, bottled water, tolls, and flight tracking included. No taxi line, no shared shuttle stops, no waiting at SJD curb-side.

How long is the transfer from SJD to Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos?

The drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) to Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos covers roughly 12 km along Carretera Transpeninsular (Highway 1) — the shortest route to any major Cabos resort. Outside of peak hours expect a 15-20 minute ride. From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm — when most US/Canada flights land — traffic can stretch the drive to 25-30 minutes. Our drivers track your flight in real time and plan the route around live traffic.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos sits on the beachfront Zona Hotelera (Hotel Row) of San José del Cabo, facing Playa Hotelera along Boulevard Mijares — the same short stretch of coastline as JW Marriott Los Cabos, Royal Solaris, Viceroy Los Cabos, and Secrets Puerto Los Cabos. Because every resort on this strip shares the same short access road off Highway 1, the drive time is nearly identical no matter which hotel on Hotel Row you are staying at.

Shared shuttles undercut a private transfer on a per-person basis if you are traveling solo or as a pair, but the ride itself takes longer — up to 90 minutes once you factor in the fill wait and other hotel stops, versus 15-20 minutes direct to Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. Shared shuttles also do not carry child seats, so families booking the resort's all-inclusive kids' programs typically book private. See our full private-vs-shared-shuttle breakdown for the per-passenger math.

Arrival at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos — what to expect

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is one of the fastest transfers from SJD — the resort sits directly in the San José del Cabo hotel zone, just past the estuary. Our driver pulls into the resort drop-off circle directly — no walking from a parking lot with bags. The Hyatt Ziva bellmen meet the vehicle, take the luggage, and the front desk handles your all-inclusive check-in and wristbands from there.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos vs. Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta — two different resorts

Hyatt Ziva is a family-focused, all-inclusive brand with resorts in more than one Mexican beach destination, and travelers occasionally book the wrong one. Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos sits in San José del Cabo at the southern tip of the Baja California Sur peninsula, served by Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) — the property this page covers. Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is a separate resort on Mexico's Pacific coast near Marina Vallarta, served by Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), hundreds of kilometers away in a different Mexican state. The two resorts do not share an airport, a route, or a transfer price. Double-check your hotel confirmation email before booking your transfer.
