How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.

Walk straight to Shaded Area #3

Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.

Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.

Look for the white-shirt embroidered uniform

One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.

Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.

From baggage claim to your suite.

You land

Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.

You walk to Shaded Area #3

Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.

Your driver arrives in under two minutes

Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.

You arrive at the suite

Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

About this transfer

Written by the Cabos Airport Transportation operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa sits at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula in Cabo San Lucas, walking distance from the Marina and downtown, about 32 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). A private transfer takes 30-40 minutes door-to-door off-peak. One-way pricing starts at $107 USD for a private van — child seats, bottled water, tolls, and flight tracking included.

How long is the transfer from SJD to Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa?

The drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) to Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa covers roughly 32 km along Carretera Transpeninsular (Highway 1), ending at the southern tip of Cabo San Lucas near the Marina and Land's End. Outside of peak hours expect a 30-40 min ride. From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm — when most US/Canada flights land — traffic through downtown Cabo San Lucas can stretch the drive to 40-50 min. Our drivers track your flight in real time and plan the route around live traffic.

  • English-speaking driver in white-shirt embroidered uniform.
  • Flight tracking — your driver adjusts the pickup time if you are delayed.
  • Bottled water and child seats on request (note it in the booking).

  • Direct drop-off at the Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa main entrance — the bell staff know us.

Which vehicle is the right fit for Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa?

Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa is an all-suite property — most rooms have an ocean-view terrace and a kitchen or kitchenette, so families and multi-generational groups often book two or three suites on the same flight and need one coordinated pickup. Three vehicle categories cover every party size headed to the resort. All-inclusive pricing — what you see at checkout is what you pay.

A shared shuttle from a third-party operator can look cheaper per person, but it is not a service we run ourselves — we only offer private vehicles. Third-party shuttles to Cabo San Lucas typically run 90-120 minutes once you add the 15-60 minute fill wait and 2-4 hotel stops, versus a 30-40 minute direct ride to Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa. The Zone 4 taxi sindicato rate ($90-115) sits close to our $107 flat price, but it is cash-only with no flight-delay coverage and no advance price guarantee. See our full private-vs-shared-shuttle breakdown for the per-passenger math.

Arrival at Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa — what to expect

Our driver pulls straight into the Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa entrance at the tip of the peninsula, off Av. Playa Grande in Cabo San Lucas' Centro district — no walking from a parking lot with bags. Bell staff meet the vehicle, take the luggage, and the front desk handles check-in from there.

Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa and the Land's End tip — what you are arriving to

Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa occupies acres of private beachfront at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean — walking distance from the Marina and downtown Cabo San Lucas, according to the property's official Visit Los Cabos listing. The all-suite resort pairs ocean-view terraces with in-room kitchens or kitchenettes, several infinity-edge pools facing the Marina and the Pacific, and a two-story oceanfront spa (Playa Grande Spa) built around a saltwater jacuzzi, hydrotherapy circuits, and a traditional Mexican temazcal purification ritual. On-site dining runs from Brigantine Steak House (steaks and seafood) to Calima (Mexican and international plates) and a Sport Bar for cocktails and tequila tastings, plus a mini-golf course, a 24/7 fitness center, and direct private-beach access. Because the property sits at the peninsula tip rather than out on the Pacific-side gated communities, it prices in the same standard Cabo San Lucas transfer band as Marina and Médano Beach hotels, not the longer Pacífico-zone drive.

Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa vs. other Solmar-branded resorts in Cabo

Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa is part of the Solmar Collection, which also operates Solmar Resort, Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa, and Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes in Cabo San Lucas — four separate, independently addressed properties that share a brand and a vacation-club program but not a building or a transfer route. Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes sits on the Pacific-side gated road (45 km, 45-60 min, priced in our Pacífico zone tier) and has its own transfer page. If your confirmation says "Grand Solmar" without "Playa Grande" in the name, double check which property you are booking — this page covers only Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa at the Marina/Land's End end of Cabo San Lucas.
