How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.

Walk straight to Shaded Area #3

Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.

Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.

Look for the white-shirt embroidered uniform

One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.

Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.

From baggage claim to your suite.

You land

Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.

You walk to Shaded Area #3

Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.

Your driver arrives in under two minutes

Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.

You arrive at the suite

Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

About this transfer

GuideUpdated October 13, 20263 min read

Written by the Cabos Airport Transportation operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa sits directly on Médano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, about 45 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). A private transfer takes 35-45 minutes off-peak, or up to 60 minutes during peak afternoon arrivals. One-way pricing starts at $107 USD for a private van — child seats, tolls, and flight tracking included.

How long is the transfer from SJD to Casa Dorada Los Cabos?

Casa Dorada sits at Av. Pescador s/n, Colonia El Médano, right on Médano Beach — the same distance band the Cabo San Lucas zone page groups with the rest of hotel row on Médano Beach (45 km from SJD). Off-peak, expect a 35-45 minute ride along Highway 1. During peak afternoon arrivals (4:00-7:00 pm) — when most US/Canada flights land — traffic through the Tourist Corridor and into town can stretch the ride to around 60 minutes. Your driver tracks your flight in real time and adjusts pickup timing around it.

What is included in the transfer to Casa Dorada Los Cabos?

  • Private vehicle — no shared stops, no waiting for other travelers.
  • English-speaking driver in white-shirt embroidered uniform.
  • Flight tracking — your driver adjusts the pickup time if you are delayed.
  • Bottled water and child seats on request for families (note it in the booking).
  • Tolls, taxes, and a meet-and-greet at Shaded Area #3 outside SJD arrivals.
  • Direct drop-off at the Casa Dorada main entrance on Av. Pescador.

Which vehicle is the right fit for Casa Dorada Los Cabos?

Casa Dorada is an all-suite, family-friendly and pet-friendly resort, so its guests range from couples to multi-generational families sharing a two-bedroom suite or penthouse. Three vehicle categories cover every group headed to the resort. All-inclusive pricing — what you see at checkout is what you pay.

Private transfer vs. taxi vs. shared shuttle to Casa Dorada Los Cabos

Taxi sindicato (Cabo San Lucas Zone 4 rate)$90-115 USD / vehicle35-60 minCash only at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking
Shared shuttle (third-party operators, e.g. Cabo Shuttle, Discount Cabo)$25-40 USD / person60-90 min with other stopsMultiple resort stops before yours, fixed departure windows
Rental car$50-90 USD / day + insurance35-60 minYou drive after a long flight

A shared shuttle from a third-party operator can look cheaper per person, but it is not a service we run ourselves — we only offer private vehicles. Third-party shuttles typically make several stops at other resorts before reaching Médano Beach, which can turn a 35-45 minute direct drive into 60-90 minutes with a full van. An airport taxi lands close to our $107 flat rate on a good day, but the fare is not fixed in advance, it is cash-only, and there is no flight-delay coverage if your arrival slips.

Arrival at Casa Dorada Los Cabos — what to expect

From SJD, the route follows Highway 1 the length of the Tourist Corridor before reaching Cabo San Lucas and continuing to Av. Pescador s/n on Médano Beach. Your driver has your name and vehicle details on file before you land, holding a board with our logo and your name at Shaded Area #3. From the resort entrance, bell staff take over for check-in — the main boulevard and downtown Cabo San Lucas restaurants and shops are a five-minute walk away.

Casa Dorada Los Cabos — what you are arriving to

Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa is an all-suite, oceanfront property of 181 suites directly on Médano Beach — the only calm, swimmable beach inside Cabo San Lucas — with views toward El Arco (the Arch) at Land's End, per the resort's official site. Suites range from standard rooms to two-bedroom and penthouse layouts, each with a kitchenette, living area, and private balcony. The resort runs two free-form pools plus a children's pool, and several dining venues including 12 Tribes, Maydan (the poolside Beach Club), Okianos, Trattoria and Sushi Bar, and The B Bar. The Saltwater Spa offers massages, body wraps, and hydrotherapy treatments built around the healing properties of the sea. Casa Dorada leans family-friendly and pet-friendly rather than adults-only, a useful distinction from some of the couples-oriented Tourist Corridor resorts further up the coast.

Casa Dorada Los Cabos vs. other Cabo San Lucas resorts

Casa Dorada sits inside the Cabo San Lucas zone, on Médano Beach itself — the same distance band as other Médano Beach hotel-row properties like Riu Santa Fe. It is noticeably closer to SJD than Pacific-side or Pedregal-area properties, and about the same drive time as most Marina and Downtown hotels. If your confirmation email lists a different Médano Beach or Cabo San Lucas address, double-check the exact resort name before booking; several addresses look similar at a glance but sit at different points along Av. Pescador with slightly different drop-off logistics.
