About the tip: our drivers are paid a fair living wage by us — not from your tip. If our driver makes your arrival feel like a small gift, a tip is welcome. It's never expected and never charged at checkout.

We monitor your flight in real time and adjust for delays. Your driver is always at the right place at the right time.
$107 includes vehicle, driver, taxes, tolls, water, and child seats. The number you see is the number you pay. Tip is welcome but never expected.

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.
Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.
Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.
One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.
Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.
The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

A small concierge note from us.
Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.
You land
Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.
You walk to Shaded Area #3
Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.
Your driver arrives in under two minutes
Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.
You arrive at the suite
Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

Villa La Estancia sits on Médano Beach inside The Villa Group complex, 45 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). A private door-to-door transfer takes 35-45 minutes off-peak, from $107 USD one-way for a van — tolls, child seats, bottled water and flight tracking included. No taxi line, no shared shuttle stops.
On this page
Villa La Estancia is at Camino Viejo a San José Km. 0.5, Col. El Médano — the Médano Beach end of Cabo San Lucas, 45 km from SJD along Carretera Transpeninsular (Highway 1) and through the Tourist Corridor. Off-peak the drive is 35-45 minutes. Between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm, when most US and Canada flights land, the same route runs 50-55 minutes. Your driver tracks the flight in real time and routes around live traffic, so a delayed landing does not cost you the pickup.
| Metric | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Distance | ~45 km / 28 mi | Door to door via Highway 1 |
| Typical time | 35-45 min | Off-peak (mornings, mid-afternoon) |
| Peak-hour time | 50-55 min | 4:00-7:00 pm arrivals window |
| Zone | Cabo San Lucas — Médano Beach | Zone 4 — same band as downtown, the Marina and the rest of the Villa Group complex |
| Starting price | $107 USD | Private van, up to 8 passengers |
Villa La Estancia is built around large suites rather than standard rooms: the official categories run from a Deluxe Superior Room through one-, two- and three-bedroom suites to a Presidential Three Bedroom Suite and a Four Bedroom Penthouse, with the resort describing them as spacious suites for up to 8 guests. That changes the transfer question. Most guests here are not a couple with two carry-ons — they are a family or two families filling a multi-bedroom suite, often landing together, sometimes on two flights an hour apart. Pick the vehicle by the suite, not by the booking name.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Best for | One-way price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Van | Up to 8 pax | One- and two-bedroom suites | $107 USD |
| VIP Suburban | Up to 6 pax | Couples, premium ride, extra luggage room | $115 USD |
| Mercedes Sprinter | Up to 18 pax | Three-bedroom, Presidential and Penthouse parties | $169 USD |
| Option | Approx. cost | Time to resort | Comfort |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (us) | $107 USD / vehicle | 35-45 min direct | A/C, water, child seats, no detours |
| Taxi sindicato (Zone 4, Cabo San Lucas) | $90-115 USD / vehicle | 35-45 min | Cash only at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking |
| Shared shuttle (third-party operators) | $25-40 USD / person | 90-120 min | 15-60 min fill wait + 2-4 hotel stops before yours |
| Rental car | $50-90 USD / day + insurance | 35-45 min | You drive Highway 1 after a long flight |
The shared-shuttle math is where a multi-bedroom suite changes the answer. At $25-40 per person a shared shuttle looks cheap for two travelers, but a six-person suite pays $150-240 and still absorbs the 15-60 minute fill wait plus two to four hotel stops — 90-120 minutes in total against a 35-45 minute direct ride. Our flat $107 van covers up to eight passengers regardless of headcount. The Zone 4 taxi sindicato rate of $90-115 brackets our flat price, so the honest argument there is not the fare: it is cash-only payment at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking, and no price locked in before you land. We do not run shared shuttles at all — every transfer on this page is a private vehicle. Our full private-versus-shared breakdown has the per-passenger math.
The Villa Group properties share one beachfront access road off Camino Viejo a San José, so a driver who does not know the complex can drop you at the wrong lobby — a real inconvenience when you are carrying a week of luggage for six people. Our drivers pull into the Villa La Estancia porte-cochère itself; bell staff take the bags from the vehicle and the front desk handles check-in from there. If your reservation is under a vacation-club or rental-by-owner booking rather than the hotel itself, tell us the suite number when you book and we will confirm the correct entrance before arrival day.

Villa La Estancia sits in the heart of The Villa Group Resorts complex on the Sea of Cortez, and the resort describes Médano Beach as a long stretch of sand that extends from the complex all the way to the shores of downtown. That matters practically: Médano is the only calm, swimmable beach inside Cabo San Lucas proper, the Marina and downtown are a short drive or a long walk along the sand, and the water in front of the property is usable — unlike the rougher Pacific-side beaches covered on our Pacífico zone page. On-site dining runs La Casona, La Parrilla poolside, the Palmita Market & Deli for a quick bite, and a private Sunset Dinner table at the ocean edge; guests on the all-inclusive plan also get the restaurants at neighbouring Villa del Palmar and Villa del Arco, and the complex Desert Spa is a few minutes on foot. In other words, once you are dropped off you do not need a car for the week — which is exactly why a one-way private arrival plus a pre-booked return beats a rental for most guests here.
Three adjacent resorts inside the same Médano Beach complex carry the Villa name — Villa La Estancia, Villa del Palmar and Villa del Arco — and guests routinely book one while remembering the other. For the transfer itself the distance, the drive time and the $107 Zone 4 price are identical for all three, so a booking under the wrong name costs you nothing but a few minutes at the wrong porte-cochère. Two confusions do change the answer: the Villa Group also operates Villa La Estancia and Villa del Palmar properties in Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta, which are a different airport entirely, and a Pacific-side or Pedregal address in your confirmation is a different transfer zone and price. If the confirmation only says "Cabo San Lucas", our Cabo San Lucas zone page lists every property in town with the same distance-and-price breakdown.
Your transfer is ready whenever you are. Book in under 2 minutes — no account needed.
