How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.

Walk straight to Shaded Area #3

Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.

Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.

Look for the white-shirt embroidered uniform

One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.

Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.

From baggage claim to your suite.

You land

Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.

You walk to Shaded Area #3

Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.

Your driver arrives in under two minutes

Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.

You arrive at the suite

Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

About this transfer

GuidePublished October 4, 2026Updated October 13, 20265 min read

Written by the Cabos Airport Transportation operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Diamante Cabo San Lucas is a 1,500-acre private, gated resort and golf community on the Pacific side of the Baja peninsula, 48-50 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). A private door-to-door transfer takes 45-55 minutes through Cabo San Lucas and in through the community's guard gate. One-way pricing starts at $123 USD for a private van — tolls, taxes, child seats, bottled water and flight tracking included.

How long is the transfer from SJD to Diamante Cabo San Lucas?

The drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) to Diamante Cabo San Lucas covers 48-50 km: the full Tourist Corridor southwest on Highway 1, past downtown Cabo San Lucas, then onto the inland access road that heads due west to the Pacific and the Diamante guard gate. Off-peak, expect 45-55 minutes. During peak season (December-April) and on cruise-ship arrival days, the stretch around the Cabo San Lucas marina can push it to 70-80 minutes. Late-night arrivals are the fastest of the day. Your driver tracks the flight in real time and routes around live traffic.

What is included in the transfer to Diamante?

  • Private vehicle — no shared stops, no waiting for other travelers to land.
  • English-speaking driver in white-shirt embroidered uniform.
  • Flight tracking — your driver adjusts the pickup time if you are delayed.
  • Bottled water and child seats on request (note the ages in the booking).
  • Tolls, taxes, and a meet-and-greet at Shaded Area #3 outside SJD arrivals.
  • Guard-gate clearance — your reservation and guest name are on file before you land, so Diamante security waves the vehicle through instead of sending you back to the gatehouse.
  • Drop-off at your exact address inside the community: Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, a villa, a residence, or the golf clubhouse.

Which vehicle is the right fit for a Diamante arrival?

Three vehicle categories cover every party size headed into the community. Pricing is per vehicle, not per person, and all-inclusive — what you see at checkout is what you pay, with no tip expected.

Diamante is a private community, not a conventional resort

This is the single thing that changes how you should arrange a ride here. Diamante is a 1,500-acre private resort community behind guard gates, with estate lots, rental villas and residences spread across the property alongside 36 holes of golf and a 12-hole par-3 short course, per the Los Cabos tourism board. Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, open since 2019, sits inside the same perimeter. There is no single lobby where every arrival is dropped: the address on your confirmation may be a hotel, a villa number, a residence, or a club. Whoever drives you in has to be cleared at the gate and has to know which internal road leads to your door.

The last stretch to Diamante leaves Highway 1 past Cabo San Lucas and heads west to the Pacific through open desert.

Private transfer vs. taxi vs. shared shuttle to Diamante

How the options compare for SJD → Diamante Cabo San Lucas
OptionApprox. costTime to your doorGate & comfort
Private transfer (us)$123 USD / vehicle45-55 min directA/C, water, child seats, name filed with Diamante security
Taxi sindicato (Zone 4+)$110-130 USD / vehicle45-55 minCash only at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking, no gate clearance arranged
Shared shuttleNot offered to this addressN/AShuttle operators are not authorized through the Diamante gate
Rental car$50-90 USD / day + insurance45-55 minYou drive after a long flight; you still need to be on the gate list

Shared shuttles are the cheapest way into Los Cabos almost everywhere else, and they are simply not sold for this address: shuttle operators have no arrangement with the Diamante gate, so a budget voucher can leave you at the gatehouse arranging onward transport yourself. That narrows the real choice to private transfer, taxi sindicato or rental car. Our $123 rate sits inside the sindicato's official "Zone 4+" Pacific-side range of $110-130 while adding flight tracking, child seats, a card payment instead of cash at the curb, and a driver whose name is already on the security list. A rental car only pays off if you plan day trips beyond the Pacific side — for a straight airport-to-villa run it rarely beats the transfer once insurance is added, and it does not adjust for a delayed flight.

Why is a Diamante transfer priced above downtown Cabo San Lucas?

Three things separate the $123 Pacífico rate from the $107 standard Cabo San Lucas rate. The route is 3-5 km longer than a trip to a downtown or marina address. It passes through the slowest stretch of the whole corridor — the marina area of Cabo San Lucas — before turning west. And the last leg is a gated access road plus internal community roads, where the driver stops at the gatehouse and then navigates to a specific villa rather than pulling up to one hotel entrance. Combined, the door-to-door time runs 45-55 minutes versus 30-40 minutes to a downtown Cabo San Lucas address, which is why Diamante prices a tier above the town rate.

Golf arrivals: clubs, early tee times and the Dunes

Most people flying into Diamante are flying in to play. The Dunes Course is a Davis Love III design that opened in 2010; El Cardonal, which opened in 2014, was Tiger Woods's first course design; and the Oasis Short Course is a 12-hole par-3 layout, also by Woods — 36 holes plus the short course on one property, per the Los Cabos tourism board. Practically, that means golf bags. A party of four with four travel bags and four golf cases does not fit in a van at the same comfort as four travellers with carry-ons: tell us the number of golf cases when you book and we will send the van with the rear seat folded, or quote the Suburban or Sprinter instead. If you have a same-day tee time, book the earliest flight you can and give us the tee time in the notes — we leave SJD by the fastest corridor route and skip any stop.

Diamante vs. the other Pacific-side gated communities

Diamante is one of several gated properties on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, and the names are easy to confuse on a confirmation. They sit at a similar distance from SJD, so what tells them apart is the access road and the gate. Diamante is the inland golf community: you leave Highway 1 past downtown Cabo San Lucas and head due west across open desert to the Diamante guardhouse, with Nobu Hotel Los Cabos and Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos inside the same perimeter. Quivira is a separate community further south toward Land's End, entered through its own gate, and it is the one that contains Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes is a Solmar property reached from the cliffside coastal access road out past Land's End, not from the Diamante road. All of them sit in the same $123 / $130 / $200 Pacífico price tier, so the price on your quote will not tell them apart either — which is why the exact property name, not just 'Diamante' or 'Pacific side', is what the driver and the gate need.

One more note on the setting: the Pacific side faces open ocean rather than the calmer Sea of Cortés, so the surf is rougher than at a Marina or Médano Beach property and ocean swimming is generally supervised or restricted. The trade-off is the west-facing sunset and a cooler evening breeze. If you want a reliably swimmable beach during your stay, Médano Beach in downtown Cabo San Lucas is the nearest one, back along the road you arrived on.
