How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.

Walk straight to Shaded Area #3

Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.

Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.

Look for the white-shirt embroidered uniform

One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.

Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.

From baggage claim to your suite.

You land

Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.

You walk to Shaded Area #3

Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.

Your driver arrives in under two minutes

Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.

You arrive at the suite

Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

About this transfer

Written by the Cabos Airport Transportation operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa sits on the boardwalk of the Cabo San Lucas marina, about 45 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). A private door-to-door transfer takes 30-40 minutes — the fastest zone band in town, against 35-45 minutes to the Médano Beach hotels — and costs from $107 USD one way for a private van, flat per vehicle, with tolls, taxes, child seats and flight tracking included.

How long is the transfer from SJD to Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa?

The drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) to the Cabo San Lucas marina covers roughly 45 km down Highway 1, the Tourist Corridor road that connects the two towns. Off-peak, expect 30-40 minutes door to door. That is the fastest band of any zone in town: the Médano Beach hotel row, a little further along the same road, runs 35-45 minutes, and the Pedregal hills and the gated Pacific-side communities (Quivira, Diamante, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica) route and price differently again. Your driver tracks the flight in real time and adjusts the pickup if you land late.

What is included in the transfer to Marina Fiesta?

  • Private vehicle — no shared stops, no waiting for other travelers to land.
  • English-speaking driver in a white-shirt embroidered uniform.
  • Flight tracking — your driver adjusts the pickup time if you are delayed.
  • Bottled water and child seats on request (note the ages in the booking).
  • Tolls, taxes, and a meet-and-greet at Shaded Area #3 outside SJD arrivals.
  • Drop-off at the resort entrance on the marina side, with luggage carried to the lobby.
  • A price fixed in writing at booking — no meter, no cash at the curb, no tip expected.

Which vehicle is the right fit for a Marina Fiesta arrival?

Three vehicle categories cover every party size staying at the resort. Pricing is per vehicle, not per person, so the cost per traveler drops with every seat you fill — a family of four in a van pays the same $107 as a couple.

Marina-front, not beachfront — what that changes on arrival day

This is the one thing worth knowing before you arrange a ride here. Marina Fiesta faces the harbor: sport-fishing fleets, the boardwalk restaurants, and the dock where the day-trip boats leave for El Arco at Land's End. It is not on a swimmable beach. Médano Beach — the only calm, swimmable beach inside Cabo San Lucas proper — is a short walk away along the boardwalk, which is exactly why many travelers choose this address: you are between the harbor and the beach, on foot, without needing a car for either.

For your transfer it means two practical things. First, the drop-off is a resort entrance on a pedestrian marina, not a long resort driveway, so tell us if you are arriving with fishing rods, golf cases or a stroller and we will send the vehicle with the rear seat folded. Second, if your confirmation says "Marina Fiesta" you are on the standard Cabo San Lucas town rate of $107 — you are not in Pedregal and not in one of the gated Pacific-side communities (Quivira, Diamante, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica), which route and price differently. Check the address on your reservation before you book the ride, because the hotel names in town are easy to confuse.

Private transfer vs. taxi vs. shared shuttle to the marina

How the options compare for SJD → Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa
OptionApprox. costTime to your doorComfort & risk
Private transfer (us)$107 USD / vehicle30-40 min directA/C, water, child seats, price fixed in writing, card payment
Taxi sindicato (Zone 4)$90-115 USD / vehicle30-40 minCash at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking, no child seats
Shared shuttle$25-40 USD / person90-120 min2-4 hotel stops plus a 15-60 min fill wait; no child seats
Rental car$50-90 USD / day + insurance30-40 minYou drive after a long flight, and marina parking is limited

The honest comparison is with the taxi, not the shuttle. The sindicato's official Zone 4 band for Cabo San Lucas town is $90-115 per vehicle, so our $107 flat rate sits inside it — the difference is not the price, it is that the rate is fixed in writing before you fly, the driver tracks your flight, child seats are included, and you pay by card instead of counting cash at the curb after a long day. A shared shuttle is genuinely cheaper for one or two travelers at $25-40 per person, and the trade-off is time: 90-120 minutes once you add the fill wait and the other two to four hotels on the route, against 30-40 minutes direct. At four travelers the per-person math has effectively closed — $100-160 for the party against $107 for the whole van — and at six the shuttle costs more than the van outright.

Cruise-ship days and the streets around the marina

Cabo San Lucas is a tender port, and on cruise-ship days the marina is the busiest place in town — the tender dock, the boardwalk and the streets behind it all fill at once. During peak season (December-April) and on those arrival days, the last kilometre into the marina can add 15-20 minutes to an otherwise 30-40 minute run, which is the 45-60 minute figure in the table above. Your driver routes around it, and the highway section from SJD is unaffected: the congestion is local to the harbor streets. For a departure, this is the reason we build the buffer into the pickup time rather than leaving it to the day.

Leaving the marina for a morning flight

Allow about 2.5 hours from the lobby to the gate: 30-40 minutes of driving, 60 minutes for SJD check-in and security, and a buffer for the marina streets and the walk out with luggage. We confirm the pickup time 24 hours before departure on WhatsApp, and if your flight moves we move with it. If you booked the round-trip, the return leg is already priced and scheduled — there is nothing to arrange at the front desk.
