How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.

Walk straight to Shaded Area #3

Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.

Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.

Look for the white-shirt embroidered uniform

One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.

Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.

From baggage claim to your suite.

You land

Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.

You walk to Shaded Area #3

Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.

Your driver arrives in under two minutes

Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.

You arrive at the suite

Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

About this transfer

GuideUpdated September 25, 20264 min read

Written by the Cabos Airport Transportation operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve sits inside the gated Puerto Los Cabos community on Boulevard Mar de Cortez, about 17 km east of Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and just past San José del Cabo town. A private door-to-door transfer takes 25-30 minutes off-peak. One-way pricing starts at $84 USD for a private van — child seats, bottled water, tolls, and flight tracking included.

How long is the transfer from SJD to Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve?

The drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) to Zadún covers roughly 17 km: south on Highway 1 through San José del Cabo, then east onto the Puerto Los Cabos access road toward Boulevard Mar de Cortez and the community gate. Outside of peak hours expect a 25-30 min ride. From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm — when most US and Canada flights land — traffic through San José del Cabo can stretch the drive to 35-40 min. Our drivers track your flight in real time and plan the route around live traffic, so the pickup time moves with your aircraft rather than with your original itinerary.

Private transfer vs. taxi vs. shared shuttle to Zadún

How a private transfer compares for SJD → Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
OptionApprox. costTime to resortComfort
Private transfer (us)$84 USD / vehicle25-30 min directA/C, water, child seats, gate already cleared
Taxi sindicato (Zone 2, Puerto Los Cabos)$70-90 USD / vehicle25-30 minCash only at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking
Shared shuttle (third-party operators)$25-40 USD / person90+ minNo standing gate arrangement with Puerto Los Cabos properties
Rental car$50-90 USD / day + insurance25-30 minYou drive after a long flight, plus the gate check-in

For Zadún the gate narrows the options more than price does. Shared shuttles are usually the cheapest way into most Cabos zones on a per-person basis, but they hold no standing arrangement with any gated community in Los Cabos — the shuttle company cannot clear your name with the guard, so it is not a realistic option for a Puerto Los Cabos reservation. The Zone 2 taxi sindicato rate ($70-90) sits close to our $84 flat price, but it is cash-only with no flight-delay coverage and no guarantee the driver already has your name staged at the gate. A rental car makes sense if you plan to explore San José del Cabo, the East Cape, or the Sierra de la Laguna independently; for a straight airport-to-Reserve run it adds insurance cost and puts a jet-lagged traveler behind the wheel for the gate check-in.

Arrival at Zadún — what to expect

Clear immigration and baggage claim, then walk past the timeshare and taxi desks in the arrivals hall to Shaded Area #3 outside Terminal 1. Your host is holding a board with our logo and your name. From there it is a single, uninterrupted ride: Highway 1 south, the Puerto Los Cabos access road, the community gate (already staged with your name), and then Boulevard Mar de Cortez to the Zadún arrival pavilion, where the resort team takes over the luggage.

Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve — what you are arriving to

Zadún Los Cabos, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is the brand’s Reserve-tier property on Boulevard Mar de Cortez, inside the Puerto Los Cabos community in San José del Cabo. It has 113 rooms, suites and villas, the Sensei at Zadún wellbeing program and spa, and restaurants including El Barrio; it holds a Michelin 2 Keys distinction (2024) and a Green Key sustainability certification. The setting is the quiet, Sea of Cortés side of Los Cabos — swimmable water and a slower stretch of coast, roughly 10 minutes past downtown San José del Cabo and its Thursday Art Walk, rather than the nightlife end of Cabo San Lucas some 45 minutes west.

Zadún vs. the San José del Cabo beachfront hotel strip

Zadún is easy to confuse with the beachfront Zona Hotelera properties closer to downtown San José del Cabo — Hyatt Ziva, JW Marriott, Viceroy — because all of them are marketed under the same "San José del Cabo" tourist area. Zadún sits past that strip, inside the separately gated Puerto Los Cabos community alongside Secrets Puerto Los Cabos and Hotel El Ganzo, which is why its transfer runs a little longer (25-30 min versus 15-20 min for Hotel Row) and clears a community gate the beachfront hotels do not have. If your confirmation only says "San José del Cabo" without Zadún, Secrets, or El Ganzo named, check the San José del Cabo and Puerto Los Cabos zone pages linked below for the distance-and-price breakdown of each area before you book.

Booking your return to SJD

Returns from Puerto Los Cabos normally leave the resort three hours before departure: 25-30 minutes of driving, plus the international check-in and security window at SJD Terminal 1, plus a margin for the San José del Cabo bottleneck if your flight leaves in the late morning. Booked as a round trip, the return is already scheduled and discounted 10%; booked separately, message us on WhatsApp 24 hours before checkout and we price and confirm it on the spot.
