How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

Walk out through the main arrivals doors after baggage claim and customs. You'll see a series of numbered canopies / shaded areas ahead of you.

Walk straight to Shaded Area #3

Continue walking straight ahead, crossing the street, and you'll arrive at **Shaded Area #3** — our official meet-up point.

Some airport directories will list this as 'Canopy 3' or 'Sombra 3' — same place. If you can't see it, ask any airport security host for 'Shaded Area 3' and they'll point.

Look for the white-shirt embroidered uniform

One of our airport hosts will be waiting under the canopy. Long white sleeves with colorful Mexican embroidery, khaki pants, holding a board with **your name** and the Cabo Airport Transportation logo.

Our uniform is distinctive on purpose — nobody else at SJD wears it. You'll see your name before they see you.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Inside the airport, before you reach our meet-up point, you may be approached by friendly people offering free tours, free taxis, or asking about your hotel. These are timeshare presentation salespeople — not airport staff. They've caused confusion for our guests in the past. The simplest move: keep walking past them. Our host is waiting outside at Shaded Area #3, no matter what anyone inside tells you.

From baggage claim to your suite.

You land

Customs and baggage are out of our hands — we estimate ~25-40 min after wheels-down before you reach arrivals. Our flight-tracker already knows.

You walk to Shaded Area #3

Our host has been waiting. Your name on the board. No scramble, no signs to misread.

Your driver arrives in under two minutes

Bags in the trunk, water in the door pocket, A/C cool. The host steps back. The road to your hotel begins.

You arrive at the suite

Doormen know us. They open the door for the bags. You walk into your stay with nothing left to manage.

About this transfer

Written by the Cabos Airport Transportation operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos is an all-inclusive resort inside the gated Diamante development on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, 48-50 km from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). A private door-to-door transfer takes 45-55 minutes, running the full Tourist Corridor and then west to the Diamante gate, and costs from $123 USD one way for a private van, with tolls, taxes, child seats and flight tracking included.

How long is the transfer from SJD to Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos?

The drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) to Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos covers 48-50 km: the full Tourist Corridor southwest on Highway 1, through downtown Cabo San Lucas, then west to the Diamante guard gate and in along the community roads to the resort entrance. Off-peak, expect 45-55 minutes door to door. This is one of the longer Los Cabos transfers — the hotel is past Cabo San Lucas, not in the corridor — and the last two stages are the slow ones: the streets around the Cabo San Lucas marina, then the gate. Your driver tracks the flight in real time and adjusts the pickup if you land late.

What is included in the transfer to Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos?

  • Private vehicle — no shared stops, no waiting for other travelers to land.
  • English-speaking driver in a white-shirt embroidered uniform.
  • Flight tracking — your driver adjusts the pickup time if you are delayed.
  • Bottled water and child seats on request (note the ages in the booking).
  • Tolls, taxes, and a meet-and-greet at Shaded Area #3 outside SJD arrivals.
  • Guard-gate clearance — your reservation and guest name are filed with Diamante security before you land, so the vehicle is waved through instead of being sent back to the gatehouse.
  • Drop-off at the resort entrance, with luggage carried to the lobby.
  • A price fixed in writing at booking — no meter, no cash at the curb, no tip expected.

Which vehicle is the right fit for a Hard Rock arrival?

Three vehicle categories cover every party size headed to the resort. Pricing is per vehicle, not per person, so the cost per traveler drops with every seat you fill — a family of four in a van pays the same $123 as a couple. All three rates are all-inclusive: vehicle, driver, tolls, taxes, bottled water and child seats.

Pacific side, inside Diamante — not the Tourist Corridor

This is the one thing worth getting right before you book a ride, because it changes both the drive and the price. Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos is not on the Tourist Corridor between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, where most of the big Los Cabos resorts sit. Its address is Fraccionamiento Diamante, Cabo San Lucas — inside the gated Diamante development, facing the open Pacific, past downtown Cabo San Lucas. Corridor resorts such as Le Blanc, Solaz and Dreams Los Cabos are 28-33 km from SJD and price from $92. Hard Rock is 48-50 km out and prices from $123, the same Pacífico tier as Diamante itself, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos and Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes.

Two practical consequences. First, a quote you were given for "a corridor hotel" will not cover this ride: the drive is roughly 15-22 km longer and goes through the slowest stretch of the whole route. Second, there is a guard gate between the highway and your lobby. Diamante is a private community with residences, villas and more than one hotel inside a single perimeter — Hard Rock and Nobu Hotel Los Cabos among them — so the vehicle has to be cleared at the gatehouse and the driver has to know which internal road leads to the right entrance. Both are routine when the booking carries the full hotel name; neither is when it just says "Diamante".

The road west past Cabo San Lucas toward the Pacific side, the route a Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos airport transfer follows from SJD
The last stretch to Hard Rock leaves Highway 1 past Cabo San Lucas and heads west to the Pacific — 48-50 km and 45-55 minutes from SJD.

Private transfer vs. taxi vs. shared shuttle to Hard Rock

How the options compare for SJD → Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos
OptionApprox. costTime to your doorGate & comfort
Private transfer (us)$123 USD / vehicle45-55 min directA/C, water, child seats, name filed with Diamante security
Taxi sindicato (Zone 4+)$110-130 USD / vehicle45-55 minCash only at the arrivals kiosk, no flight tracking, no gate clearance arranged
Shared shuttlePer seat, sold by third parties60-90 minMulti-stop with a fill wait; no child seats, no gate clearance arranged
Rental car$50-90 USD / day + insurance45-55 minYou drive after a long flight; you still need to be on the gate list

The honest comparison here is with the taxi, not the shuttle. The sindicato's official "Zone 4+" Pacific-side band is $110-130 per vehicle, so our $123 flat rate sits inside it — the difference is not the price. It is that the rate is fixed in writing before you fly, the driver tracks your flight, child seats are included, you pay by card instead of counting cash at the arrivals kiosk, and your name reaches Diamante security before you do. A shared shuttle is the cheaper option for one or two travelers, and the trade-off is time and the gate: 60-90 minutes once you add the fill wait and the other hotel stops, against 45-55 minutes direct, with no arrangement at the gatehouse. A rental car only pays off if you plan day trips beyond the Pacific side; for an airport-to-lobby run it rarely beats the transfer once insurance is added, and it does not adjust for a delayed flight.

Why does a Hard Rock transfer cost more than one to downtown Cabo San Lucas?

Three things separate the $123 Pacífico rate from the $107 standard Cabo San Lucas town rate. The route is 3-5 km longer than a trip to a marina or Médano Beach address. It passes through the slowest stretch of the whole corridor — the streets around the Cabo San Lucas marina — before turning west. And the last leg is a gated access road plus internal community roads, where the driver stops at the gatehouse before reaching the resort entrance. Combined, the door-to-door time runs 45-55 minutes against 30-40 minutes to a downtown Cabo San Lucas address, which is why the Pacific side prices a tier above the town rate.

What the Pacific-side setting changes about your stay

The resort itself is a full all-inclusive: unlimited food and drink across eight restaurants — Ciao for Italian, Zen for sushi, Ipanema for Brazilian rodizio among them — nightly entertainment, room service, a Music Lab, the Roxity Kids Club for families, and the Rock Spa with 36 treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy centre with whirlpools, steam room and sauna. What the Pacific address changes is the water. The hotel states plainly that strong currents make ocean swimming unsafe for guests, experienced swimmers included, so the beach here is for walking and sunsets and the swimming happens in the pools. The trade-off is the west-facing sunset and a cooler evening breeze that the Sea of Cortés side does not get.

For a transfer that matters in one way: if a reliably swimmable beach is part of the plan, Médano Beach in downtown Cabo San Lucas is the nearest one, back along the road you arrived on, and worth building into a day rather than assuming it is a walk from the lobby. Guests who want both sometimes split the stay between a Pacific-side resort and a town address — in which case tell us at booking and we quote the hotel-to-hotel leg with the airport legs rather than leaving it to a taxi on the day.

Leaving Hard Rock for a morning flight

Allow about 3 hours from the lobby to the gate: 45-55 minutes of driving, 60 minutes for SJD check-in and security, plus a buffer for the community roads, the gate on the way out, and the marina stretch if you are leaving in the morning rush. We confirm the pickup time 24 hours before departure on WhatsApp, and if your flight moves we move with it. If you booked the round-trip, the return leg is already priced and scheduled.
